Substitutions

At Niolia, we are committed to delivering thoughtfully designed, high-quality floral arrangements. On occasion, substitutions may be necessary due to factors beyond our control. Below is an overview of how substitutions are handled.

When Substitutions Occur

Substitutions may occur in the following situations:

• Seasonal Availability: Certain flowers may be unavailable due to seasonality. In these cases, substitutions are made to ensure the arrangement remains cohesive and visually balanced.
• Market Shortages: At times, specific flowers may be unavailable due to market conditions. Substitutions will be made using flowers of similar color, shape, and premium quality to preserve the overall design.

Maintaining the Original Design

When substitutions are required, we ensure that:

• The original color palette is maintained
• The overall style and design remain consistent
• The value of the arrangement is preserved
• Only premium flowers are used as replacements

Arrangements that include substitutions are not considered incorrect items and are not eligible for refunds, provided the original palette, design intent, and value are maintained.

Designer’s Discretion

Our florists apply their professional judgment to select the freshest and most appropriate flowers available, ensuring each arrangement reflects its intended look and feel.

Notification of Substitutions

• Customers are notified only in cases of major substitutions, such as when a primary flower type is unavailable.
• Minor substitutions that do not affect the overall design, palette, or value are made without prior notification.
• If a major substitution is required, we will contact you by phone or email to discuss available options.

Special Cases

• Vases and vessels: If the selected vessel is unavailable, it will be replaced with a similar vessel of comparable material, size, and value (for example, ceramic for ceramic or glass for glass).
• Orchid plants: Natural variations in pattern, shade, and the number of blooms or buds may occur. We ensure the correct number of stems is delivered and that the color closely matches the original selection.
• Candles: Candles are provided exactly as ordered. No substitutions are made for candles.

No-Substitution Requests

If you prefer not to allow substitutions, please note this in the design notes at checkout. We will make every effort to accommodate your request and will contact you if any element of the arrangement is unavailable.

Customer-Requested Substitutions

If you or the recipient have allergies to specific flowers, please include this information in the design notes at checkout. We will substitute those flowers with appropriate alternatives.

You may also request substitutions related to:

• Flower colors
• Specific flower types
• Containers or vases

Requests can be added in the design notes or shared with us directly. All requests are accommodated within our design standards whenever possible.

Holidays & Peak Seasons

During peak periods such as Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day, the same substitution standards apply. We continue to follow the policies outlined above while working within seasonal and market availability.
